Red Bull Stratos Spacesuit Revealed!

At long last Red Bull has let us have a sneak peak at where the Red Bull Stratos team is at. It's been months since the last real bit of information has come out.

Anyway, here's the latest video from Red Bull. Describing the next-generation spacesuit and whats special about it.

Know that the suit is finished and I assume passed all the tests. Hopefully Felix will know start practicing his jumps from some decent height to get a real good feel for what he's in for.

With some video of course!!! Remember Red Bull sharing is caring.

Red Bull Stratos is Going Supersonic

The science behind the Red Bull Stratos jump, to many people is the last thing they care about. We all just want to see the High Definition coverage!

We all know it kinda dangerous but do we really appreciate whats going on behind the scenes. The tests, calculations, simulations, more testing and then more simulations. This is not a simple PR stunt by Red Bull to sell more Red Bull!
This is a project to help mankind break more boundaries more records and I suppose sell more Red Bull at the same time. What Joe Kittinger did for mankind decades ago. Felix Baumgartner plans to do now.

In saying all this, Red Bull seemed to of read "our" minds and released a video about the science and dangers behind a supersonic free fall, and it's in High Definition!!!

Red Bull Stratos - Sneak Peak Pics

Red Bull has just released a few pictures on their website. Showing the capsule Felix will be inside, on his way up to 36km above the earth. Before making a historic jump for all mankind.

Here's the link- Red Bull Stratos pics.

Felix Baumgartner on the Red Bull Bulletin

If you haven't already grabbed you monthly Red Bulletin from you local newsagent. A magazine all about Red Bull sponsored extreme sportsman and woman. Then you haven't lived...

But if you have a local newsagent that doesn't stock this awesome magazine. Then you can download the pdf for FREE here!

Why you need to download this magazine and read it is because it has my hero on the front page. A man that will do one of the most dangerous and most awesomeness thing a man has done since going to the moon!

Its a good read....trust me

When will the Red Bull Stratos Jump take place?

This is the multi-million dollar question everyone is asking. Obviously the jump depends on a huge amount of changing variables. The successful testing of the equipment, weather and how Felix is doing in his training.

Red Bull says "sometime late this year". But I have heard/read through the grape vine the jump could be as early as April! I have my doubts though.
Maybe that is when Felix will be doing his final practice jumps at altitudes up to 90 000ft before the BIG ONE!

Who knows.................??

The Ones That Have Failed......... so far.

Felix Baumgartner is not the only one who has tried or plans to break Joe Kittinger records. There has been a many "wannabe" super hero's that have attempted the jump. All failing for different reasons such as pure bad luck, lack of funds and ignorance.

One of them was Australian Rodd Millner. A guy that had "a bit" of money and a good PR team. He failed for his ignorance. Rodd Millner just loved the media attention and the woman that came with it too much, enough said.

Then there was/is Cheryl Stearns. A well accomplished skydiver with medals to her name and plenty of jumps under her belt. The obstacles in her path, like a lot of us - funds and age.
Check out StratoQuest.

Other wannabe that has the "balls" but not the cash is Steve Truglia. A former SAS soldier, records holder and a stunt coordinator.
Out of all the competitors, Steve could give Felix a run for is money. He has been training and conducting equipment tests as funds permit for a number of years. But it seems he needs more money.
Check out SpaceJump.

If you think you have bad luck, you've got nothing compared to Michael Fournier. He has attempted to break Joe's records three times. All three attempts failing before he even leaves the ground. The first two attempts his balloons were ripped apart due to strong winds. The third attempt the balloon detached itself from the capsule as he got in it.
Obviously with all these failures. Michael Fournier funds have been hit hard and now age has become other factor.

Everyone wants to be some sort of super-hero but as you can see it takes a combination of "balls", skills, a little luck, right attitude and of course a bit of money to make that jump. Or any jump in life.

Joe had the right combination back then. Will Felix have it now?

The Next "real" Super Hero

The next super hero to break Joseph William Kittinger's records. Will hopefully be Felix Baumgartner. A guy who lives on the edge and lives by the words "everyone has limits - not everyone accepts them"

With a impressive resume of B.A.S.E jumping records to his name and his military background. He has the "right stuff" to do the job.
